Midtown West is often referred to just as Midtown and is swimming at the center of commerce in New York City as home to Broadway and the Theater District, Times Square, Port Authority, the Fashion District and Rockefeller Center. Most of the city's largest skyscrapers, biggest hotels and tallest apartment complexes are located in Midtown and the area draws both a large local and tourist crowd year-round. Due to the large commercial area, Midtown has moderately high-crime rates and plenty of noise complaints from residents. For those looking for a more neighborhood-feel in Manhattan, Midtown is far from ideal, but the detractions to the area make it relatively easy to find a rental with plenty of amenities for an affordable price and it's one of the most accessible areas in the city - with the exception of rush hour.
